Each dlc has its own companions. Just none can follow from the mohave . But yeah do this order HH is a great level up dlc, and does have a some backstory to the legion so I'd do this after learning about the legion and the first battle of hoover dam. I'm not a fan of OWB but do it before DM as they both refer or feature anchaclractwr mentioned in the main game by the NCR And LR is meant to
For experienced players +5-20 hours depending on how much do you want to complete them. Just by skipping all the dialogue and trying to rush through, it takes me 3 hours to get through most the DLCs (I find Lonsome Road shorter but more difficult than the others). It's totally worth it compared to Fallout 3's DLCs.

You can play the dlc's whenever, even at the beginning but it's best to do so when you choose a faction. Here's the order of story importance, since the dlc's are all connected: 1: Honest Hearts 2: Old World Blues 3: Dead Money 4: Lonesome Road Honest hearts doesn't have much to any tie ins but it's great to do early especially for the loot.
HH can be done anytime. take whatever you want to. there is a limit on the carry weight you can take with you. I think it is 70. strong back or a speech check can allow you to increase the limit. DM is recommended for around level 20. all of your gear is stripped and you dont get it back til after you are done, so you dont need to take anything
I've finished OWB and HH DLCs and am lvl 37. I tried reinstalling the game data, I don't have the (CA) DLC item cause I deleted it a while back. I also tried reinstalling the dead money DLC. I see "dead money" appear in the DLC list, but still have just the radio signal. My lvl caps did go up with each DLC that I got.
In total the ultimate version on steam is 20 bucks which includes all the DLCs as well as the Gunrunners weapon pack and a couple others that are similar but not as great. But all in all totally worth the purchase. Yes. 539 votes, 134 comments. 236K subscribers in the fnv community.
When do you all tackle the DLC during your play throughs? I normally wait to the end after I finish the main quest (or close to it) but I was reading where someone recommended playing through Honest Hearts around level 8-10 for the weapons and armor to assist the rest of your play through of the campaign.
